The Bellwether Coffee Tour: An Eye-Opening Exploration of Roasting Excellence
Now back to the demo event, the demo took place at Carnelian Coffee Co(2428 W. Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904) where I was greeted warmly by the Bellwether and Carnelian Coffee Co team. Obviously, coffee became the topic of conversation as we shared our passion and knowledge. The demonstration itself was surprisingly simple. The machine took care of the intricate roasting process, requiring only the measurement of coffee and a simple button press on the screen.
Tyler, Owner of Green Orange Coffee(https://www.greenorange.coffee) and one of the participants for the demo, got to try the roasting process with El Salvador beans. As I observed, the staff from Carnelian Coffee Co. enlightened us on the proper storage of green beans and guided us through the various stages of the roasting process. To my delight, I was given the opportunity to roast a batch of Guatemala single origin beans myself—a truly exhilarating experience for a first-time roaster.
The grand finale was the presentation of the freshly roasted coffee beans. Each one held its unique aroma and flavor profile, opening my eyes to the remarkable transformation that occurs during the roasting process.
This experience left an indelible mark on me. Witnessing Bellwether's roasting process and the expertise shared by the Carnelian Coffee Co. staff inspired me even further on my coffee journey.
